What it means to be a foster!

Because we are a foster-based rescue with no physical shelter, we only have the capacity to save as many dogs as we have foster parents. When you become a foster parent with Paws Path To Furever, you will personally be saving the life of a dog who might have otherwise not received a second chance.

Our foster parents begin with a training video as a part of their orientation to review the basics of fostering a pup and provided with basic supplies,. All foster parents are encouraged to reach out to  our incredibly supportive online community of foster parents, and for more experienced foster parents wanting to help a wider range of dogs through our social media sites or directly to our rescue. 

By opening up your heart and home to a foster dog, you are removing them from the shelter environment and allowing them to flourish while they prepare to meet their future families. 

According to Petco Love, studies show that if just 2% of pet-owning households fostered just one pet a year, we could eliminate unnecessary euthanasia in shelters tomorrow. At Paws Path To Furever, we believe the answer to saving millions of dogs each year is by giving them a home to live in until their furever home comes. 

As a foster-based dog rescue, our goal is to get dogs off the street and keep out of the shelter, but our hope is that one day we won’t have to! We imagine a world where shelters are empty and no dogs are wondering the streets because each pet has a loving home. Until that vision becomes a reality, we will continue working with our community and making fostering and adopting accessible to all. This allows us to save hundreds of puppies and dogs each year with the help of our incredible Paws Path To Furever family
